Instructions

  1. 1

    1. Wash the cherries and nectarine. Pit the cherries if needed and cut the nectarine into medium pieces.

  2. 2

    2. Add the cherries, nectarine, plain yogurt, milk, chia seeds, honey, vanilla extract, and ice to a blender.

  3. 3

    3. Blend for 45 to 60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. If you want a thinner texture, add a little more milk and blend again for 10 seconds.

  4. 4

    4. Let the smoothie rest for 2 minutes so the chia can hydrate slightly and create a silkier texture.

  5. 5

    5. Serve immediately in two chilled glasses. For an extra-refreshing presentation, chill the glasses for 5 minutes in the refrigerator at 39 °F / 4 °C before serving.

Chef tips

For a deeper flavor, use frozen cherries and reduce the ice slightly. If the nectarine is very sweet, you can reduce the honey.

Substitutions

Replace the milk with oat or soy milk for a different texture, keeping in mind that allergens and dietary tags will change. Honey can be replaced with maple syrup for a no-honey version.
