Instructions
- 1
Toast the sesame seeds in a small skillet over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant. If you prefer to use the oven, toast them at 325°F / 165°C for 3 to 4 minutes. Let them cool for 1 minute.
- 2
Wash the blackberries and black grapes. Remove any grape stems and slice the banana.
- 3
Add the blackberries, black grapes, banana, Greek yogurt, milk, tahini, honey, cinnamon, and ice to a blender.
- 4
Add most of the toasted sesame seeds, reserving a small amount for garnish.
- 5
Blend for 45 to 60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. If you want a thinner smoothie, add a little more milk and blend again for 10 seconds.
- 6
Taste and adjust the sweetness with a little more honey if desired.
- 7
Serve immediately in two glasses and finish with the reserved toasted sesame seeds on top.
Chef tips
For an even thicker texture, freeze the banana slices for at least 1 hour beforehand. If using frozen blackberries, slightly reduce the ice to keep the texture balanced.
Substitutions
You can replace the honey with maple syrup for a strict vegetarian/vegan version if you also swap the yogurt and milk for plant-based alternatives. Tahini can be replaced with almond butter, keeping in mind that the allergens will change.
